Admissions to Nursery

The Nursery at Odessa Infant School has a total of 104 places, 52 per session. 

You can put your child’s name down on the waiting list for nursery when they are 2 years old.  Please contact the school office to make an appointment and on the day, bring your child’s birth certificate and proof of address.

Your child can be admitted to nursery when they are 3 years old.  The School Office will contact you when a space is available for you child and you will be asked to come in and work with us to complete the necessary forms. 

Please contact the School Office if you would like to come and visit the Nursery prior to putting your child’s name down on the waiting list.

30 Hours Extended Entitlement
The nursery at Odessa Infant School is offering 30 hour funded childcare for 3 and 4 year olds of working parents.   

Am I eligible?
 
You will qualify for a free place if:
Both parents in a two parent family are working (or in a sole parent, the lone parent must be working) and each parent on average earns:

  • A weekly minimum equivalent to 16 hours at National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage
  • Less than £100,000 per year.

Admissions to School

Admissions to the Reception classes are managed through the Local Authority.  Children in our Nursery do not automatically have a place in the School.

Families who move to the area and require a place for their child within the school academic year must contact the London Borough of Newham. 

We welcome visits from prospective parents and these can be arranged through the School Office.

Admission for entry from September 2017 (2017/8 current academic year)

Reception admission for entry from September 2018

Children from Odessa Infant School will automatically transfer to St James Junior School at the end of Year 2.  Information regarding this will be sent from St James at the time of transition.
